BBC and its hatred for Bharat

I do not know why BBC is biased against Hindus and against Hindu spiritual gurus. It came out strongly in a recent interview with Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.

So, what happened is that Sadhguru is in India after covering over 20,000 Kilometres on a bike in 70+ days, raising environmental awareness through the #SaveSoil movement. And then the BBC interview happens. The English interview was itself in poor journalistic spirit and the Tamil one was worse.

Just watching the video, even I was wondering what the hell is happening. There were very few questions actually asked about the Save Soil movement itself. The only thing the BBC guys seemed to be interested was in heckling Sadhguru.

* 74 nations have signed up an MOU with the Save Soil team.

* Over 2 billion people have been touched through the movement.

* Sadhguru spoke at the COP-15 and WEF events.

The BBC interviewers did not ask about any of these points. They could have asked — but they did not and it speaks about their agenda. All they are interested in asking was how can Sadhguru take up environment-related awareness activities when there are environment-related allegations on Isha Foundation?

Really! I wonder if these guys are even journalists in the first place or are paid hitmen to malign someone.

Because this question comes after the TN Government clearly spelled out in an RTI that Isha center is not occupying any forest land nor is it an elephant corridor.

The issue of environmental clearance not being there has been contended in the court of law itself, and it was in the news media itself.

Of late, a lot of media have been acting very much like paid hitmen — used for abusing or maligning someone. This was no exception. Either the interviewer was not even prepared to ask the right questions or it was a planned hit-job.

In the Tamil interview, Sadhguru clearly answered the question when asked the first time. And then he says why ask the same thing again and again when it is already answered? When the interviewer keeps harping on it, Sadhguru says let’s stop the interview. But this does not deter our habitual hecklers. Then Sadhguru says, let’s switch off the camera. And, this is how the BBC video ends.

Now there will be people who ask shouldn’t spiritual people be calm and relaxed always, especially those who teach yoga to others?

Does spirituality mean you should ‘always’ remain quiet and patient? No!

Arguably the greatest spiritual book of Hindus, Bhagavad Gita, was the offshoot of a war! Spiritual gurus are not supposed to be dumb and phlegmatic, but active and wise. There are countless examples. We have Viswamitra and Parashurama as glorious examples. In recent times, Guru Gobind Singh, Guru Arjan Singh, and even Islamic spiritual leaders were warriors.

Spirituality is about how you are within yourself — not just about smiling always or being kind.

Sometimes, you just have to say your point loud and harsh — does not mean you are upset within — it is just the language a buffalo understands is different from what a child understands.

For those who understand Tamil, here is a good video covering many points..

And a couple of good memes to iterate the point ..
