Invest India has recently released a report called “Deep Tech and National Security” with the foreword: “The adoption of Al in the sphere of national security has its own challenges, spanning the ethical and regulatory realms”

Intriguing!!

Now, what is this Deep Tech?

Technological innovation is not new. Deep Technology is a term used for the class of technologies that are based on scientific and engineering breakthroughs and have the potential to be commercialized quickly, such as AI, ML, IoT, Blockchain, VR, 3D Printing, etc.

What are the sectors that can be revolutionized by Deep Tech in India?

As per NASSCOM estimates on Indian startups, there are 1900+ AI startups, 570+ Big Data & Analytics ones, 560+ IoT based, 240+ blockchain-based, 210+ AR/VR ones, 150+ Web3 based, and 50–60+ startups each in cybersecurity, robotics, drones, and 3D printing.

India and Israel, keen on exploring innovative solutions, have already taken measures to promote the development of deep tech through the implementation of multi-national collaboration, and the India-Israel Deep Tech Summit was held in March 2022.

The Venture Capital ecosystem for these deep tech startups is also being strengthened now.

The idea is that the more these deep tech platforms advance, the broader the possibilities for them become, and the quicker they’ll get to market.
