Digging into Google Drive

How many times have you uploaded your files to Google Drive and shared the link with someone? Perhaps many times.

Did you always set the privacy & security to allow only a select group of people or left it open for anyone to access the files?

Google Drive stores a lot of public files from around the world but it does not have a built-in search feature for others to search and access your documents or files. However, this does not mean your “public” files cannot be searched or downloaded by others.

There is a platform called “DeDigger” built for such searches. dedigger (dedigger.com) searches for public files on all Gdrives: just type the name of the desired content into the search & find PDFs, JPGs, MP4, etc. You will be surprised by the range of content you can find.

The next time you upload any photo or video to Google Drive and want to share it with someone, make sure you enable access to only that person (or persons) and not have it public. Otherwise, be ready for it to magically appear on dedigger :)
