Man, Woman, Or …?

A wise man once said that over 95% of human energy is wasted in thinking about sex or avoiding sex. But gender and sex seem to dominate the liberal narrative these days, especially in the USA.

Are you a man?
Are you a woman?
Are you a man wanting to be identified as a woman?
Are you a woman wanting to be identified as a man?
Are you a man or a woman who does not want to be identified as either a man or a woman?

Why are we confusing gender so much these days? I was watching a few videos yesterday on Youtube and am shocked at how much people are confused, especially the youth and in the Americas.

Most of this confusion came about because of a few things — discrimination in the society where one wants to be identified differently than one’s biological gender and confusion regarding the legality of property inheritance, etc. based on one’s gender.

The social discrimination against transgender folks is an unfortunate reality in all countries, including the so-called progressive liberal nations. This can be overcome by making a few social and government policy changes and does not really require churning the entire society out.

Now should a government be concerned about same-sex marriage or a different sex marriage? Some say yes because it determines the legality of the marriage and thereby the property inheritance, etc. So be it. Can these not be quickly addressed legally so the rest of the society can be settled about it?

Again, would we stop with these or would we go on to debate about how to handle someone who wants to be identified as a man in some situations and a woman in some situations, or perhaps wants to be identified as a cat in some other situations?

All this also begs the question if, in the name of liberalism and ‘free thinking’, we are getting to a point where most of our folks are utterly confused.

Social debate, in general, is good but if we start questioning the very basics of biology, which are not even relevant to 90% of the population, there is a possibility of it causing social confusion of high order among others, if not closed out quickly enough.

Whether someone is a man or a woman or a transgender, let us identify them as humans first and ensure they have the basic social rights as everyone else.
