Mental Models for Common People — 1
I am reading a book called “Super Thinking” by Gabriel Weinberg and Lauren McCann. Though I have probably covered only 1/10th of it so far, it still has been a very enriching experience.
The first step to take action as a response rather than reaction in any given situation is to be as aware of the situation and with as little bias as it may be possible.
This book introduces mental models as recurring concepts that help us explain, predict, or approach these seemingly disparate subjects. It presents quite some models, that are useful to see what factors influence our behaviours in different situations.
I have made a simple mind-map of these mental models that I have learnt about so far.
The book is highly recommend for anyone interested in critical thinking and am going to post more about other models too later.
